How long will a battery last during a blackout?
That depends entirely on your battery capacity and what loads you’re running. A 10 kWh system powering essential loads — lights, fridge, phone charging, and a TV — can typically sustain a home for 12–20 hours. We calculate your expected runtime during the design phase so you know exactly what to expect before we install anything.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
In most cases, yes. We assess your existing inverter and solar array, and either retrofit a compatible battery bank or — if your inverter isn’t storage-ready — replace it with a hybrid unit that supports both. We work with all major panel and inverter brands.
Are lithium batteries safe indoors?
The LiFePO4 chemistry we use is widely considered the safest lithium variant available — it doesn’t produce thermal runaway in the way other lithium chemistries can. Installed in a ventilated, fire-rated enclosure per our standard, these systems are completely safe for indoor or garage installation.
How many charge cycles do the batteries last?
Our batteries are rated for a minimum of 3,500 full charge cycles — typically equating to 10+ years of daily cycling. At the end of their warranty period, they still retain at least 80% of their original capacity, so degradation is gradual rather than sudden.
