Generator Installation

Backup Power You Can Depend On

For operations where an interruption isn’t an option — hospitals, data centres, cold chains, event venues, and residences with critical needs — Ascend installs and integrates standby generator systems that activate the moment your main power source fails.

At Ascent Solar Energy, we understand that some energy needs require an additional layer of backup. Our generator installation services are designed to complement your solar system, providing reliable power when needed most.

Whether for residential or commercial use, we help you select and install the right generator based on your energy requirements. Our team ensures proper setup, safety, and seamless integration with your existing power system.

With a generator in place, you gain extra confidence knowing your operations or daily life won’t be disrupted—even during prolonged power outages.

FAQS

How quickly does the generator kick in during a blackout?

With an automatic transfer switch, generator startup and load takeover typically completes within 10–30 seconds of a power failure being detected. For applications requiring sub-second switchover (like servers), we recommend combining the generator with a UPS or battery system that bridges the gap instantly.

For standby use (running occasionally during outages), petrol generators are cost-effective for smaller loads up to about 10 kVA. For larger loads, longer running periods, or 24/7 standby duty, diesel is more fuel-efficient and durable. LPG is also an option where fuel storage is a concern. We’ll guide you through the trade-offs honestly.

Yes, if sized correctly. We can spec whole-building generators for residential and commercial clients. Alternatively, for cost efficiency, we can design a critical-load panel that powers only essential circuits during an outage, requiring a smaller and cheaper generator unit.

We recommend a service every 6 months or 250 running hours, whichever comes first. This includes oil and filter changes, coolant check, battery test, transfer switch test, and load bank testing. Our service contracts handle all of this automatically — you’ll never wonder if your generator is ready.

We assess your energy needs and recommend a generator that matches your usage and budget.
